Following on from last weeks success, the Giants were looking forward to their first home game of the new season at their new home venue. On a slightly larger pitch than last season the boys were hoping to put the extra space to good effect with their strong team ethic of pass and move football. The game couldn't have got off to a better start with a goal after 26 seconds from Joe Adams. Following this early setback Highfield settled and put in and a very spirited display to make life difficult for the Giants to extend their lead. Team Description

Ladybridge Giants has evolved from a training group of 40 boys who started with the club at Under 5's. The season of 2007/2008 saw this group split into 4 teams and play their first season in the BBDJFL. Ladybridge Giants competed in the 'A' Section. At the close of the 2007/2008 season, assessments were carried out within the age group, looking at player development and some squad movements took place. The end of the 2008/2009 saw further developmental changes as well as two players leaving the club to play Academy football. 2009/10 has seen the merging of the best talent from the Giants and Bulldogs to create the 'new look' Giants squad. With a talented, strong squad of 10 players, all of which continue to play at the highest level, with several boys attending local Centre Of Excellence. We train on Monday's at Ladybridge High School Astro Turf 6-7pm and play in the BBDJFL A section on Saturday mornings. This team continues to perform extremely well and are fantastic representatives of Ladybridge FC.
