The Club was founded in 1989 by Chairman Steve Hill.
We are part of Ladybridge Sports & Leisure Limited, a registered charity (1087770), a non-profit making organisation. Our club aim is to ‘Grow the game’, making the best use of our facilities and cementing a long term structure that can continue to run the club for years to come.
We have two main pitches: 3G Full Size Pitch located on Tempest Road (Lostock) and a Grass Pitch located on Ladybridge Lane (Bolton). At our main 3G Ground, we have our own Club House which consists of separate changing rooms and wash facility, toilets, a cafeteria and a main meeting room / training room. There is ample parking on site. In 2024 the club installed permanent floodlights, making it safer to continue training programs during the winter months.
Today the club boasts over 800+ members, and in 2024 we recorded over 60 teams of different age groups from U5 to Seniors, inclusive of over 12 nursery groups. Some of our teams also play as mixed genders, Boys and Girls, and over the years the club has promoted Women’s Football as well as coaching. Anyone interested to help us build on this, please get in touch with our Chairman.
We have over 100 volunteers with various FA Qualifications from FA Level 1 and up, and all have in addition Safeguarding Qualifications. The club promotes new managers each year and has a history of hosting FA Qualification courses organised by the local FA in our Club House facility. We welcome all interested parties to get in touch if you want to become a full time coach in our effort to grow grass roots football.
Our teams play in a variety of leagues that is most suited to them. At present they are: –
Manchester Woman's Flexi League
East Manchester JFL
Wigan & District JFL
Bolton & Bury District Football League (BBDFL)
Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our grass roots club. Without them we would not be able to have progressed so much over the years. They give up an immense amount of their personal time, dedication and commitment, many of whom have been at the club for many years. Through all sorts of challenges, the volunteers have always one way or another pulled together to ensure progress is made at all times. The amount of time that goes on in the background, from planning and preparation to coaching on the pitch does not go unnoticed. Over the years we have seen many parents also get involved and we thank you all for your support and continued help.
LFC Policies and procedures are available on request via our club secretary Mr Andrew Hill.
